SANTA FE — Sen. Pat Woods, R-Broadview, was reappointed to seven interim bodies for the New Mexico Legislature, according to a release from the New Mexico Senate Republican Office.

Woods will be a voting member on three committees — Economic and Rural Development, Water and Natural Resources and Transportation Infrastructure Revenue.

He was appointed as an advisory member to the Legislative Finance and the Revenue Stabilzation and Tax Policy committees, along with the New Mexico Finance Authority and the Public School Capital Outlay Oversight Tax Force.

During interim periods, the bodies examine the effectiveness of state government and how services can be improved. They also consider proposed legislation for endorsement.

During the sessions, Woods serves on the Senate Conservation and Corporation and Transportation committees.

Woods’ District 7 includes Curry, Quay and Union counties. Democrats hold a 26-16 majority in the Senate, and appointed all committee chairman from within the party.
