Police look into embezzlement

CLOVIS — Police are investigating a reported embezzlement involving the Curry Residents Senior Meals Association, but city leadership maintains it is working with its board to keep services from being interrupted.

Clovis Police Capt. Roman Romero said detectives from the department’s Special Operations Unit are conducting an ongoing investigation, and “no other information is available for release.”

CRSMA’s director Cherisse Perez departed her position recently, but neither city leadership nor CRSMA’s board president would comment further on the circumstances of her leaving.

Attempts to contact Perez have been unsuccessful.
