CLOVIS — The inclusion of Curry County on the Public Project Revolving Fund (PPRF) Legislative Authorization List will be voted on by the Curry County commissioners during Tuesday’s meeting, along with two other action items.
Curry County Manager Lance Pyle said this a requirement for the county in order to be able to apply to the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) for PPRF funding for projects more than $1 million over the next three years.
According to a letter from Chairman Ben McDaniel to the NMFA, the county anticipates two projects to exceed $1 million within the next three years: renovations at the Curry County Courthouse and improvements at the Curry County Events Center and Fairgrounds.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, scheduled for 9 a.m. in the commission chambers at the Curry County Administrative Complex, 417 Gidding:
• The commission will vote on a resolution that would amend a resolution approved last year setting market rental rates at the county’s 816 N. Main property.
Pyle said the resolution simply amends the original document to update which county offices are utilizing the building.
He said the county’s youth services department will be moving out of the building and into the Curry County Courthouse once the heating renovation project there is complete and the misdemeanor compliance program will now be housed at 816 N. Main.
• The commission will vote on a contract for surveillance and security equipment at the county’s new road barn.
The county has received three bids — two from Towne Crier (one at $7,291.09, another at $5,862.28) and a bid of $18,950.96 from Camnet, according to a memo from IT Director Todd Ulses to Pyle.
In the memo Ulses recommended accepting the $5,862.28 bid as it would save money on installation and future monitoring costs.
• Two separate proclamations will also be read declaring October 2018 to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Curry County.
• The meeting will be followed by the commission’s annual site visit to the adult and juvenile detention center.
