Hounds trio competing at rodeo finals

CASPER, Wyoming — The Eastern New Mexico University Rodeo team wrapped up its second day of competition at the College National Finals Rodeo on Monday afternoon.

The Greyhounds have three competitors in this year’s CNFR — Celie Vick in goat tying, Lindsey Adcock in breakaway roping, and Landon Beardsworth in steer wrestling. All three competitors entered CNFR ranked third in their respective events.

Vick had the best day of the three ENMU competitors as she posted a time of 6.9 in the first go of the goat tying to sit tied for 14th. The senior missed scoring team points for the women by just .02 seconds.

Adcock is already two rounds into the CNFR in the breakaway roping as she competed in the first go on Sunday. She posted a no time in the first go and finished 15th in the second go with a time of 11.9 seconds. Adcock is 21st with an average of 11.9 overall entering the third go.

Beardsworth also had a rough start to his event as he posted a no time in the first go of the steer wrestling. He'll look to bounce back in the second go as he currently sits tied for 34th.

All three competitors will be back in action again today. Vick and Beardsworth will compete in the Slack category of the CNFR with events getting started at 7 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time. Adcock will be in the Performance category with events starting at 7 p.m. MDT.
