PORTALES — The Portales Rams dominated the selections for the District 4-4A All-District Team, and three Ram players were named to the June 6 North-South All-Star Game this week.
Six Portales players received spots on the 4-4A team — Zamorye Cox, Lindsay Blakey, Kelly Fraze, Sarah Lovato, Taylee Rippee and Alexis Garcia. Cox was also named the district’s MVP and defensive player of the year.
State runnerup Moriarty had four selections, while Hope Christian had three.
Selections for the North-South game, with only seniors eligible, include four Portales players and two Texico players.
Cox, Blakey and Fraze were named to the team, with Lovato one of five alternates. Maryelle Dickerman and Mackenzie Haakma of Class 3A champion Texico were also named to the team.
