Angelo takes opening doubleheader from ENMU softball

ANGELO, Texas — Eastern dropped its fourth-straight softball game on Friday, as the Hounds were swept in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader at Angelo State, 8-1 and 12-0, respectively.

In Game 1, ASU (23-1, 8-0) scored a pair of runs in the first and second innings to quickly jump out to a 4-0 lead. Samantha Brockman hit her first home run of the season in the top of the third, but it proved to be the only run of the entire day for the Greyhounds (13-12, 6-5).

As for Game 2, the fourth-ranked Rambelles scored twice in the first and three times in the second inning to quickly go ahead, 5-0.

However, it was a seven-run bottom of the third, which included a two-run single from Bailey Wallace, which officially put things out of reach in the five-inning contest.

Eastern will conclude its series with ASU today at 12 p.m. MT, as the Hounds will try to end a four-game skid, while the Rambelles go for 23-in-a-row.
