TEXICO — One person was killed and another injured in what authorities described as a single-vehicle rollover crash Monday evening south of the Texico cemetery.
Danielle Calleros, 17, of Clovis was driving a 1997 Mazda convertible-coupe eastbound on Curry Road 7 when she “lost control of the vehicle” after going through a dip between Curry Roads C and D, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.
“The vehicle left the roadway and traveled into a field where it rolled onto its roof,” wrote Curry County Sheriff Wesley Waller.
He said deputies were dispatched to the area around 7 p.m. Cause of the accident remains under investigation, he said.
Calleros and her passenger, Juan Carlos Avila-Trujillo, 27, of Clovis, were transported to Plains Regional Medical Center.
“Calleros died a short time after arrival,” Waller wrote. “Avila-Trujillo was treated and later released.”
