GIRLS
Clovis (10-8, 1-1) at Santa Fe (9-9, 0-2), at Santa Fe High School, 7 p.m.
Last time out: The Lady Wildcats bagged their first District 2-6A victory by rolling past struggling Manzano 45-22 at The Rock on Saturday. The Lady Demons also played at home Saturday, but lost 72-39 to La Cueva.
Last meeting: Feb. 11, 2017. The Lady Wildcats visited the state’s capital with high hopes, but came away with a disappointing 57-52 setback.
The lowdown: Clovis is playing without sophomore forward Madison Tolbert for the rest of the season. But Santa Fe is also banged up, so this may be a good chance for the Lady ’Cats to go 2-1 in district play and beat a district foe other than Manzano, something they couldn’t do last year.
BOYS
Santa Fe (9-9, 1-1) at Clovis ( 8-9, 0-2) at Rock Staubus Gymnasium, 7 p.m.
Last time out: Clovis had the ball with a chance to tie at Manzano on Saturday, but couldn’t quite get there, and the Wildcats went 0-2 in district play despite playing well in their second district game following a blowout loss to Eldorado in the opener.
The Demons visited La Cueva on Saturday, but were dealt a 75-60 defeat.
Last meeting: Feb. 11, 2017. The Wildcats took it to overtime, but Santa Fe dominated that extra period, winning 54-39.
The lowdown: Quite simply, Clovis needs a district win. Yes, the ’Cats play showed marked improvement in their second district game, but 0-2 is 0-2. The good news is, tonight brings their first district home game, so not riding up to Albuquerque should help.
