Clovis' Thomas verbally commits to ENMU

CLOVIS — The Clovis High football team had its second senior commitment to play college football on Wednesday.

Left tackle Josiah Thomas made the verbal commitment to Eastern New Mexico University.

Running back Demerious Milton has also committed, with plans to play for New Mexico Military Institute’s junior college program.

Thomas played six games for Clovis, which went 6-6 in its first season under Cal Fullerton. The 6-foot-2, 280-pound Thomas finished the season with 14 tackles and one sack.

A player who makes a verbal commitment is under no obligation to a program, and can back out at any time without penalty. The commitment becomes official when an athlete signs a national letter of intent. The first day he can sign will be Feb. 20.
