Three dead in Clovis fire

CLOVIS — Three people were found dead in an "out building" that burned Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of Calhoun Street, Clovis police said.

Police and firefighters responded to a report of a fire about 3 p.m., a police news release said.

"Upon arrival, firefighters noted a small, detached out building in the back yard of the home. This outbuilding was engulfed in flames. Firefighters were told people were still inside of the structure. Firefighters battled the fire and when they were able to enter the structure found three persons inside. All three persons were deceased," the news release read.

A fourth person escaped and was treated at Plains Regional Medical Center, the news release said.

Names of those who died were not immediately released. Police said more information would be provided as the investigation progresses.
