Clovis man sentenced for drug trafficking

CLOVIS — A Clovis man was sentenced this month to 16 years in prison for drug trafficking, according to a news release Wednesday from the 9th Judicial District attorney.

Omar Millrans, 42, was convicted Aug. 22 of felony trafficking of controlled substances and dangerous drugs for sale, among other charges.

Judge Drew Tatum sentenced Millrans on Oct. 16 to more than 30 years in the Department of Corrections, almost half of which was suspended for a total of 16 years in prison and 5 years of supervised probation upon release.

Millrans' charges stemmed from a traffic stop in April and an interview with Clovis police in May.

Search warrants on his property yielded "two separate baggies of meth and numerous prescription drugs which were not prescribed to Millrans," in his car and messages on his cell phone "setting up buys for meth, hydrocodone, xanax and morphine," the release said.
