ENMU women, WT end up in scoreless tie

PORTALES — The Eastern New Mexico University woman’s soccer team made their sixth overtime appearance Wednesday night against West Texas A&M, but the match ended in a scoreless tie after two overtime periods at Greyhound Stadium.

Throughout the match West Texas A&M (4-2-4; LSC 2-0-3) dominated the stats offensively, with advantages of 5-2 in shots on goal and 6-0 on corner kicks.

The Greyhounds (2-6-3; LSC 1-3-1) had four total shots on the night, with one shot on goal each from Ariel Lopez and Baylee Hampton.

This shutout was the first time the Greyhounds appeared in back-to-back shutouts at home since dating in three seasons. The Greyhounds posted consecutive shutouts in Oct. 2014 against Angelo State and West Texas A&M.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Sunday as they host Midwestern State at 1 p.m.

Men's match moved to today: The ENMU men’s Thursday night soccer match-up against Newman University has been postponed due to weather conditions in Wichita, Kansas. The game is moved to today at 11 a.m. MDT at Newman.
