CLOVIS — City commissioners took little action on Thursday night, approving budget transfers from a consent agenda and handing out employee awards.
Supervisor of the quarter went to Chad Healer of the fire department, while distinguished line employee of the quarter went to David Barela in public works.
Commissioners joined area resident Karl Korff in applauding area first responders for quick actions in emergency situations. Korff specifically thanked emergency medical technicians helping him through a recent medical emergency.
Commissioners also declared Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week and approved a street closure for National Night Out when law officers interact with the community at Greene Acres Park on Oct. 7.
