Students awarded at juried art show
The Clovis Education Foundation, Clovis Municipal Schools and Clovis Community College teamed up to put on the 2017 Young Masters Juried Student Art Show on May 9.
The display was at CCC’s Eula Mae Edwards Museum.
Awards were given to four Clovis High students — Morgan Jeffcoat for Best of Show; Harrison Rikel, first place; Alexis Romero, second place; and Cassidy Schwartz, third place.
The event was open to Clovis High and Freshman Academy students to showcase artwork in photography, graphic design, watercolor, spray paint, mixed media, and many other forms.
"Ever since I entered my first piece into this art show two years ago,” Jeffcoat said, “I have been inspired every year to put something that I have created into the show. It has inspired me to try new medias and work harder on my art. I thank everyone involved and appreciate the award I have been given.”
The Eula Mae Edwards Museum is open to the public during regular campus hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday. “Young Masters” will be on display until June 16.
