Hydraulic vehicle overturns at landfill

A hydraulic vehicle overturned Friday morning at the Clovis landfill, resulting in minor injuries to its operator, a dairy employee.

Around 8:40 a.m., city police, fire, and public works were called to the site where a roll off truck had overturned onto its passenger side. The operator was attempting to pick up a large trash bin, but the contents of the bin were unbalanced and threw the vehicle off tilt, according to Clovis Police Capt. Roman Romero.

The operator, identified only as a local dairy employee, was tossed around the vehicle's cabin and suffered a laceration to the head. He was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center at 9:01 a.m.
