Clovis at Eldorado

When: 6:30 p.m. today at Albuquerque in a District 2-6A matchup.

Records: Clovis 9-12 (2-3 district), Eldorado 14-5 (5-0)

Last time out: Tuesday, the Wildcats lost at home to La Cueva 64-62, while the Eagles beat Santa Fe High 66-44 at home.

Last meeting: Eldorado 62, Clovis 37 at The Rock on Jan. 17.

Of note: While Eldorado is 7-0 on the road and 4-2 at home, don’t put a lot of stock in that. The losses were to Albuquerque High 61-60 and to Rio Rancho Cleveland 111-109 in triple overtime. … The Eagles come into the contest on a seven-game winning streak. … Eldorado probably hasn’t played much better than it did in the first quarter of the earlier game here. The Eagles were on fire in the first quarter, building a 23-3 lead, before the Cats played them relatively evenly the rest of the way. Only senior G Trenton Gaither (13 points) and Tanner Carter (10) reached double figures for Eldorado in that one, but five others finished with at least six points.

Girls

Last time out: The Eagles got past Santa Fe High 56-49 on the road. The Lady Wildcats dropped a 60-28 decision at La Cueva.

Last meeting: Eldorado 48, Clovis 25 at Albuquerque on Jan. 17.

She has missed four games since. Junior G Vivian Chavez scored 13 points in that game for Eldorado, which took control with a 17-4 run in the second quarter. … The Eagles are 5-1 on the road this season.
