Denny's to open Sunday

CLOVIS — Clovis’ newest restaurant is set to open Sunday.

Denny’s plans a 6 p.m. opening at 4400 Prince Street, with a grand opening celebration to be held in February.

According to a company news release, the restaurant will bring about 85 jobs and be open 24 hours.

“We are excited to finally bring Denny’s to the Clovis area,” franchisee Doug Koch said in the release. “The community has been very supportive, and we look forward to finally unveiling our new location and welcoming guests into our booths.”

Started as Danny’s Donut Shop in 1953, and renamed to avoid name confusion with another Los Angeles restaurant, Denny’s now operates more than 1,700 locations throughout the United States, Canada and a dozen other countries.
