October city permits

A look at city permits filed in October, according to city records:

• 4 — New residential permits filed in October, bringing the total to 31 for the year.

• 2,056 — Average square footage of each of the new residences.

• 16 — Roofing permits for October, tied with May for the highest amount in a month. The permits were filed by 15 different applicants, but the homeowner was the applicant in six cases.

• 120 — Total roofing permits for 2016.

• $2,750 — Most expensive permit fee, filed for a commercial remodel by Davtek Corporation on the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

• $108,573 — Permit fees collected so far on commercial remodels. The combined value of all 43 remodeling jobs is $42.9 million, though much of that is wrapped up in a $30.5 million expansion project for Southwest Cheese.

• $24 — Cheapest permit fee, occurring on a pitched shingle roofing job on the 1900 block of Cameo Street.

• 1 — Permits filed under other for October. This permit was filed fo a $20,000 cellular tower on the 200 block of South Ash Street.

• 39 — Total permits in October.

• 412 — Total permits for 2016.

• $11,233 — Permit fees for October.

• $176,037 — Permit fees for 2016.
