August city permits

A look at city permits filed during August, according to city of Clovis records:

• 4: New residential permits in August, bringing the 2016 total to 26.

• 2,199: Average square footage of the new residences.

• 5: New commercial permits. Only four new commercial permits were filed the first seven months of the year. Two of the new commercial permits were filed on North Prince Street for Del Taco (3916) and Denny’s (4000).

• $3,333: Most expensive permit fee, paid for the permit filed for the Denny’s building.

• $20: Least expensive permit fee with an actual cost. The fee is on four separate fence permits. There was a $0 permit for a demolition at 404 N. Thornton St.

• 12: Fence permits filed in August, topping the previous high of eight in April.

• 7: Reroof permits, bringing the 2016 total to 89. There were six different applicants.

• 48: Total permits for August, third-highest month behind March (51) and May (54).

• 338: Total permits for 2016.

• $15,509: Permit fees for August.

• $158,593: Total permit fees for 2016.
