The following is the schedule for the 2016 Roosevelt County Fair:
Monday
• 7 a.m.-5 p.m.: All Junior Livestock including Poultry must be on Fairgrounds
• 7 a.m.-5 p.m.: Weigh all swine as they are unloaded
• 5 p.m.: Weigh/measure and classify market lambs, market goats and dairy heifers
• 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.: Home Arts Building booth set up
• 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.: Horticulture, 4H educational, 4H open, junior open crafts and sub-junior open crafts at the Youth Building; Adult crafts, baking, food preservation, handiwork, sewing, sweet delicacies, woodworking and metal art at the Home Arts Building; Entries for photography and fine arts at the Pavilion Building
• 5-7 p.m.: Merchants Building set up
• 7 p.m.: Judge baked products, booths, horticulture and sweet delicacies
Tuesday
• 6:30-8:30 a.m.: NM Christian Children’s Home Pork Chop Breakfast at the Jake Lopez Building
• 8 a.m.: Weigh steers
• 8 a.m.-12 p.m.: Merchants Building Booth set up
• 9 a.m.-12 p.m.: Judge adult crafts, fine arts, handiwork, photography, sewing and woodworking, 4H, 4H open, junior crafts, sub-junior crafts and food preservation
• 9-10:30 a.m.: Flower Show entries at the Youth Building
• 10 a.m.: Judge poultry
• 12 p.m.: Judge flower show
• 4 p.m.: Booster, first year feeder, county bred and market swine shows
• 5 p.m.: Voting opens for fair board elections in Home Arts Building
• 5-10 p.m.: Doors open on Merchants, Home Arts and Youth buildings
Wednesday
• 10 a.m.-10 p.m.: Home Arts and Youth Buildings open to the public
• 1 p.m.: Roosevelt County Bred Goat Show, Booster Market Goat, Market Goat First Year Feeders, Market Goat Show and Market Goat Showmanship at the Pavilion
• 5 p.m.: Roosevelt County Bred Lamb Show, Booster Market Lamb Show, Market Lamb First Year Feeders, Market Lamb Show and Market Lamb Showmanship at the Pavilion.
• 5-10 p.m.: Merchants Building open to the public
• 5 p.m.-12 a.m.: Carnival “Sun Valley Rides”
• 7-11 p.m.: Tell Runyan performance
Thursday
• 8 a.m.: Youth Horse Show at the Arena
• 8 a.m.-12 p.m.: Free admission for senior citizens 65 and over
• 9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Pioneer Day at the Jake Lopez Building
• 9 a.m.: Dairy Heifer First Year Feeder, Dairy Heifer Show and Dairy Heifer Showmanship at the Pavilion
• 10 a.m.-10 p.m.: Home Arts and Youth Buildings open to the public
• 3-10 p.m.: Merchants building open
• 4:30 p.m.: Breeding Beef Show at the Pavilion
• 5 p.m.-12 a.m.: Military Appreciation Night; free admission for children when adult presents military ID.
• 5 p.m.-12 a.m.: Carnival “Sun Valley Rides”
• 6 p.m.: Roosevelt County Bred Steer Show, Market Steer First Year Feeder Market and Steer Show at the Pavilion
• 6-10 p.m.: Clovis Area Train Society Model Railroad Display at the Youth Building
• 8 p.m.-12 a.m.: Will Bannister and the Modern Day Ramblers perform
• 9:30 p.m.: Junior Livestock sale books close
Friday
• 8 a.m.-10 p.m.: Clovis Area Train Society Model Railroad display at the Youth Building
• 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.: Supreme Livestock Showmanship contest at the Event Center
• 10 a.m.-10 p.m.: Home Arts and Youth Building open to the public
• 3 p.m.-12 a.m.: Carnival “Sun Valley Rides”
• 3 p.m.-10 p.m.: Merchants Building open to the public
• 5-6 p.m.: Awards presentation and Cookie Jar and Candy Box presentations at the Show Arena
• 6:30 p.m.: Junior Livestock Sale at the Show Arena; BBQ follows at the Jake Lopez Building
• 8 p.m.-12 a.m.: Coby Carter performs
Saturday
• 8 a.m.-10 p.m.: Clovis Area Train Society Model Railroad display at the Youth Building
• 9-10 a.m.: Register for Pet Show at the Pavilion
• 10 a.m.: Kiwanis Pet Show, Stick Horse Race, Turtle Race and Dummy Roping at the Pavilion
• 10 a.m.-10 p.m.: Home Arts and Youth Building Open to the public
• 12-10 p.m.: Merchants Building open to the public
• 3 p.m.-12 a.m.: Carnival “Sun Valley Rides”
• 7 p.m.: Fair Board Election closes at the Home Arts Building
• 8 p.m.-12 a.m.: The State Line Band performs
August 28
• 6-9 a.m.: All livestock released
• 1-3 p.m.: Merchants Building clean up
• 8 p.m.-12 a.m.: Entertainment and fairgrounds, including Los Revelos.
August 29
• 4-6 p.m.: Adult crafts, fine arts, food preservation, handiwork, photography, sewing, woodworking junior open crafts, sub junior open crafts, 4H open and horticulture exhibits released; Home Arts Booths taken down.
