Pre-trial conference held for former booking officer

Staff report

A former Curry County Detention Center booking officer had a pre-trial conference Tuesday afternoon on accusations of stealing from a pair of detainees.

The conference took only a few minutes for Alexandria Bichsel, who faces a pair of misdemeanor counts of larceny over $250 but not more than $500.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Brian Stover said evidence from the state would include video and a statement from Bichsel.

Mickey Patterson, Bichsel’s attorney, said her client was still weighing a plea agreement but wished to retain her right to a jury trial. Patterson declined to disclose the details of the plea agreement because it is still pending.

The case will continue with a 9 a.m. Sept. 26 docket call.
