Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Monday was the start of a new Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico campaign called “Fight Hunger, Spark Change,” according to a food bank press release.
The campaign will run through April 24 at Wal-Mart stores nationwide, including Portales and Clovis Wal-Mart locations, the release said.
“‘Fight Hunger, Spark Change’” is a simple way for shoppers at these locations to help the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico during their everyday shopping,” the release read.
There are three ways Wal-Mart shoppers can benefit the food bank at Clovis and Portales Wal-Mart stores:
• When customers purchase certain marked products — such as Kraft macaroni and cheese, certain Kellogg’s and Quaker products and more — a donation will be made to the food banks equaling one meal.
• Shoppers can donate $1, $2 or $5 at the register during checkout.
• Individuals can share or post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, saying #FightHunger or use a special filter on Snapchat while inside Wal-Mart. Each post will equal a donation of 10 meals.
Informational posters and displays about how to donate will be located in the local Wal-Mart stores.
