Of note: Clovis begins District 4-6A play on Tuesday with a home game against Carlsbad, the start of a stretch with six district games in seven contests. A Feb. 6 game at Hope Christian, the makeup of a Dec. 14 postponement, is the outlier. … This is Lovington’s next-to-last non-district game, with a Tuesday matchup against Hobbs next. Following that, the Wildcats travel to Artesia; then hosts Goddard, Roswell and Artesia; then visits Goddard and Roswell in District 4-5A play.

Last time out: The Lady Wildcats lost to Portales 56-50 at home on Tuesday. Lovington is coming off a 65-45 loss at Ruidoso last Saturday, while Roswell High edged Hobbs 40-39 on the road on Tuesday.
Last meetings: CHS won at Lovington 57-32 on Dec. 8 and lost at Roswell High 48-31 on Jan. 12.
Of note: The Lady Cats come into tonight’s game on their second three-game losing streak of the season. … Lovington is 0-5 on the road and has lost eight in a row overall since a 4-1 start. … Senior G Myra Salazar gave Lovington an early 3-2 lead before Clovis scored the final 11 points of the first period and cruised in the earlier meeting. Sophomores Teya Morris (18) and Mimi Coleman (15) posted career highs for the Lady Cats. Meantime, Salazar had 15 points for Lovington, but only two in the second half. … Lovington has lost twice to both Carlsbad and Hobbs. … Roswell High is 9-1 in road and neutral-court games. … Junior G Jaedyn De La Cerda (19 points) and senior F Gali Sanchez (15) did most of the damage for the Lady Coyotes in the earlier meeting, while Morris (16) and Coleman (14) combined for all but one of Clovis’ points. The Lady Cats led 13-12 at the quarter before the Lady Coyotes took over. … Both of Roswell High’s losses were to Carlsbad, 37-30 on the road and 36-34 at home. … The Lady Coyotes, who don’t play tonight, have won their last five outings.
