Thanks to emergency responders

I wanted to thank all of the emergency responders who were available and doing their job so well during the blizzard that hit Clovis last weekend.

I know they were overwhelmed by the number of calls received.

I especially want to thank one responder in particular. Will Jones responded to my call to help me get my 97-year-old mother-in-law out of her home to ours. He was not only helpful, but very patient with both my mother-in-law and also with me. She was but one of many in need during the power outage.

He responded in the most inclement weather imaginable with graciousness and also the utmost courtesy.

Kudos to those out in the storm

I would like to thank the police, fire department, medical people, first responders, and all the people who did not have a choice but to get out and do their jobs during the storm.

At one convenience store, there were two clerks and the floor looked like a river, but the people were still there doing their jobs.

There was a snowdrift blocking our street just to the west of my house. I spent lots of the day helping dig out people and pull out their vehicles.

I talked to a city employee about the situation west of my house. She was very friendly, courteous, and professional. Soon, two big loaders showed up and made short work of what could have been a very dangerous situation.

I want to commend the city for having crews that work so hard during these times. I know that when the snow has melted, these same people will be out trying to fill in the potholes in the streets.

Also, people were helping people in every way they could. I am proud to be a part of this community and thanks to everyone.
