LEVELLAND, Texas — Senior Cooper Ogle ran for 303 yards and three touchdowns and made a key pass breakup late to help Shallowater turn back Muleshoe 35-21 on Monday night in a twice-delayed Class 3A Division I regional final matchup.
Ogle gave the Mustangs (11-2) the lead for good 28-21 on an 8-yard TD run with 6:10 left in the game. After stopping the Mules on fourth-and-goal, Ogle broke an 86-yard touchdown run on the Mustangs’ second play to ice it with 1:58 left.
The teams combined for more than 950 total yards, but each was able to stymie a couple of scoring opportunities.
Muleshoe, which led twice by a touchdown in the first half, got 250 yards passing from senior quarterback Danny Campos, who threw for one score and ran for another. Senior running back Evan Paiz added 127 yards rushing and scored the other TD on a 1-yard run.
