Country when it’s cool: If you’re into country music, it’s a great time to be alive in eastern New Mexico.

Stars old and new are soon to be in the neighborhood.

Jason Aldean is set to perform Thursday at United Spirit Arena in Lubbock.

Rascal Flatts is headed to Isleta Amphitheater in Albuquerque on Oct. 1.

Dwight Yoakam will be at the Curry County Events Center on Oct. 23.

And Willie Nelson, on Nov. 29, is slated to perform at the Lea County Events Center in Hobbs.

Still no word on ticket sales to see Yoakam, but The Associated Press reports you can get a glimpse of Nelson for as little as $25.

It’s our business: The Association of Commerce and Industry — that’s the state’s Chamber of Commerce — has a meeting set for 1:30 p.m. today at Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce.

New ACI President Jason Espinoza is expected to be there to talk about state and local business issues.

Soccer celebration: Don’t forget Saturday is a big day for area soccer fans.

Ribbon cutting for the Clovis Indoor Soccer arena, behind the Clovis Civic Center, is set for 10 a.m.
