Feeling lucky to have modern conveniences

There was another woman in the aisle. She scooted her shopping buggy over a bit so I could join her in the search.

She was looking on the right-hand side, and I was looking on the left. Down the entire length of the shelves, and 8 feet up on either side, we were scanning the brightly colored bottles.

I had hoped for something citrusy.

To wrap up the summer days, a fresh lemony grapefruit scent seemed so appealing.

But no, it wasn’t to be found in the bargain brand I prefer.

Instead, I chose something in a pretty blue that referenced the ocean.

I told my fellow shopper that perhaps it would seem I was on vacation when I used it.

She had found just what she was looking for, and told me it was the perfect mixture for soft hair.

It’s living beyond the dreams of kings and queens, I tell you, having hundreds upon hundreds of options in my everyday life.

Royalty of old may have had ladies in waiting to style their hair. But they never had a glorious hot water faucet like mine, and they certainly never had fragrant shampoo infused with sea algae and vitamin E.
