Worth investigating ...

Every elected or appointed official in eastern New Mexico should care about this.

Attorneys with New Mexico’s Office of Attorney General are conducting open-meeting and public-record training in Clovis on Aug. 31.

Every public entity in the area should have at least one representative on hand to learn the laws related to government transparency.

Public watchdogs can learn some things, too. The AG will answer questions about filing public records requests and provide tips on other ways to ensure government is operating in the sunshine.

It’s scheduled 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 at the Clovis Civic Center’s Enchantment Room. There is no charge, but the AG would like a head count — email La Verne Roller at [email protected] or call 505-827-6070.
