Curry County Republican Women

CCRW met July 14 at Dakota Steakhouse. Twenty-one were in attendance.

Rube Render, Curry County Republican Central Committee chairman has received several calls asking Republicans to select a candidate from the 16 available Choices. He stated that officers of the party cannot support a candidate until after the primary election.

The Republican fair booth was discussed and members were asked to sign up to work at the booth.

First Vice President Jeanette Spriggs introduced guest speaker Gary Elliott, who is city commissioner for District 2. He provided important and interesting information regarding the proposed racino for Clovis. There are petitions against the racino and the Clovis Ministerial Alliance is working to keep the racino from coming to Clovis.

The next meeting will be at Dakota Steakhouse on September 8. Guests are welcome to attend these meetings. There are always interesting and informative speakers. Come have lunch and learn more about current events or available services in our city and county. For information call 575-762-2885.
