• One of three new officers elected to the Farm Credit of New Mexico board is local farmer and rancher J. Stanley Fury of Broadview. In addition to farming wheat and sorghum, he sells used guardrails to ranchers and farmers and volunteers on the Broadview Fire Department.

• Teen Miss Rodeo New Mexico 2015-16 is Kristin White of Carlsbad, crowned during Pioneer Days activities earlier this month by outgoing Teen MRNM Kyla Myers of Clovis. Tylie Garrison, 10, of Clovis was crowned Little Miss Rodeo New Mexico for the year. She is a student at Texico Elementary School.
