Meetings watch

The Clovis Planning and Zoning Commission took the following action Wednesday:

• Municipal Judge Jan Garrett swore in Marcus Smith for his two-year term as a planning and zoning commissioner.

• A request for a replat at Overland Park by Chad Lydick of Lydick Engineers & Surveyors was approved. The replat was requested so tenants at Lot 1-A could have access to titles. The replat divides Lot 1-A into Suite 1, Suite 2, and Suite 3.

• A request for the replat of Tract 3 at the Vans-Acres subdivision by Lydick was approved. The replat divides Tract 3 and separates a portion, Tract 3.1, from the subdivision that was part of an 80 foot overlap between the original deed and the deed for the subdivision.

• A zone change was approved for Alton Cooper on the 100 block of Cooper Court. The zone change changes the property from a residential single family district to a neighborhood conservation carport district. The change allows a carport to be built that matches the owners house in style and color.

• A zone change was approved for Jeffrey Greene on the 100 block of Yale Street. It changes the property from a residential single family district to a neighborhood conservation prefabricated carport district. The zone change allows the owner to install a prefabricated carport on the property. Greene said he requested the zone change so he could erect a carport that he could afford to protect his vehicles safe from hail damage and snow accumulation.

The request generated one letter of protest.

• It was the final meeting for planning and zoning commissioner Jeff Moore. When asked about his reason for leaving the commission, Moore had no comment.
