One thing about having a bad day is that it’s written all over your face.
Bad news and ugly faces go hand and hand. I’m inclined to talk about moods and dressing because it has occurred to me that during the times of life’s occasional speed bumps it’s difficult to feel good about oneself and actually look the part.
Not only are bad moods and bad days hindrances, but sometimes all of the demands in life are exhausting and the last thing anyone thinks about is what handbag they’re going to carry for the day.
I’ve noticed that I have the tendency to wear darker colors and dress down a bit when I’m struggling with something. I wear little to no makeup and I don’t wear high heels.
Everyone knows I love high heels.
It’s very cliché that the best way to get over something or someone is to look your best. If you look your best then feeling good about yourself will manifest.
In other words, you have to fake it until you make it. That’s one of my favorite simple mantras in life because so many of us let our fears take over.
I’ve noticed that people will approach you differently when you’re not looking your best because your demeanor changes. They’re softer and more compassionate; which is a good thing, but when you’re having a fantastic day and your clothes and face are lit up, you’re good mood manifests to others and they’re happy, too.
I have worn my best blacks and grays lately (my usually color selection for bad days) but I did bring myself to put some makeup on.
As human beings, we exchange energies without even knowing it and so dressing and looking your best is much more than your sense of style and fashion.
