Encanto Garden Club

Encanto Garden Club met May 13 at Muffley’s Back Door. Member Bobbie Lyons hosted refreshments and Jessica Belew was welcomed as our newest club member. During a short business meeting, titles were chosen for flower show entries in this year’s Curry County Fair book.

A program was presented by Sarah Lewis, the adult services coordinator at the Clovis-Carver Library. There are now many adult programs available to Clovis through this program such as free help with computer usage offered Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. They have free notary services, but no legal advice. The used book sales room is open during regular library hours. A ‘Page Turner Book Club’ meets once a month, as do art journaling workshops.

Several interesting speaker programs are in the works at the library such as Navajo Code Talkers, Emergency Management presentations and flea market make-overs. Although free, some of these programs may need pre-registration with the library.

Lewis encouraged any club members interested in volunteering at the library to call her or The Friends of the Library. In closing, Lewis was presented with a book title “Treasury of American Antiques” as a gift to the library.
