Encanto
Garden Club
Encanto Garden Club met April 8 at Muffley's Back Door. Brunch was provided by Navie Jucker and Barbara Voges.
The nine attending members brought plants for exchange with each other. Annual dues were paid. Loyce Hodges gave a report on the 50 Easter arrangements given to all residents of St. Anthony Nursery Home. A donation of $35 was sent to the 300 to upgrade their Raven Cage.
Master gardener and instructor Jeanne Augenstein gave a program consisting of specific questions and answers from club member on gardening problems and solutions. We must contend with sun damage and dryness due to high count of ultra-violet rays in our growing area. New products and hybrids are always showing up and many were mentioned at the meeting.
It was good to hear what was and was not successful in our personal horticultural ventures as well as the wealth of information presented by our instructor.
