Making a headboard on upcoming show

Information on caring for jewelry, making a custom headboard and working with paper punches will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday at noon.

Kristina Rachel is a jewelry designer, and she’s going to show how to take care of jewelry, whether it’s sterling silver, gold, base metal or even leather and gemstones. Her company is Rachel Claire Collection and she’s from San Jose, California.

Rebecca Peck represents The Upholstery Studio in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, and they make kits for headboards, tuffets, cornices and other DIY projects. She is going to show how to make a beautiful custom upholstered headboard which will make your bedroom a haven of comfort.

Diane Tunnell is an Independent Demonstrator with Stampin’ Up! and she going to show how to use various paper punches to create a handcrafted one-of-a-kind card. She will also show lots of completed projects that demonstrate other applications of punch art. Tunnell is from Clovis.

Information on preparing stuffings year ‘round, making elegant desserts, and doing a variegated striping on walls will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at noon and on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Cookbook author and chef Marcie Rothman says that stuffings are not just for the holiday season. She’ll demonstrate several recipes from “Mrs. Cubbison’s Best Stuffing Cookbook” that will be big hits anytime of the year. Her company is Western Research Kitchens and she’s from San Diego, California.

Nancy Siler, Wilton Enterprises in Woodridge, Illinois, will show how easy it is to make elegant desserts that are great for any occasion. She even suggests buying store-bought cream puffs to save time when making the Chocolate Ganache Croquemboche that she prepares.

Barbara Wurden, owner of Faux Fun, Inc. in Long Beach, California, will demonstrate how to do variegated striping on walls with a latex water-base paint and three different sizes of paint rollers. You can even use different sheens of paint as long as they are all consistent in base material.

CRANBERRY, MAPLE, AND ALMOND STUFFING

• 1 box (2 - 6oz. bags) Mrs. Cubbison’s Corn Bread Stuffin’ Mix

• 1/2 cup chopped celery

• 1/2 cup chopped onions

• 1/2 cup butter

• 1/2 cup maple syrup

• 1 cup cranberries

• 1/2 cup chopped almonds

• 1/4 cup brown sugar

• 1/4 cup chicken broth

Cook cranberries with sugar and maple syrup. Cook onions and celery in butter. Toast almonds in dry sauté pan. Mix all ingredients together. Either stuff into turkey or add eggs and bake in foil or muffin pan. Bake at 350° F for 30 minutes.
