- Mark your calendars. The joint city/county luncheon between Curry County and Clovis public leaders is April 14 at the Clovis-Carver Public Library’s north annex. Given the recent behavior of both commissions, one has to wonder if they will be comparing notes on being contentious.

- Saturday...Easter Egg Hunts in Clovis and Portales. Clovis’ is 9 a.m. at Guy Leeder Softball Complex. Portales is 2 p.m. at the softball complex on Industrial.

- The New Mexico Department of Health notes the teen birth rate in Curry County remains much higher than the state average. Almost 68 of every 1,000 births are by teens age 15 to 19. The state average is 40 per 1,000.
