- Curry County has delivered more than 2,000 free books to kids ages birth to 4 through its Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Kids get a free book each month. The program is supported solely on donations. To help or sign up, contact County Manager Lance Pyle’s office.

- KENW-TV’s annual fundraising auction to help keep the public television station at Eastern New Mexico University on the air. It broadcasts three nights — April 21, April 23 and April 25. It’s also online April 20-30.
- The annual Spring Trout Derby at Oasis State Park. It’s March 28-29 and offers prizes for those catching specially tagged fish ranging from $10 to $100.

- A meeting tentatively set for March 30 in Clovis about electric power superstation Tres Amigas. The project’s developers, who have not responded to recent media inquiries, are expected to update the status of the much delayed project. We’ll share particulars as soon as we get them.
