Clovis woman killed in car wreck (updated)

A Clovis woman died in a single-vehicle car crash on U.S. 70 about 9 p.m. Saturday, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.

Jade Burger, 22, died in the crash near Farwell.

DPS said Brielle Dansereau, 19, of Clovis was driving a car east, overcorrected after veering onto the shoulder of the highway, and crashed into a tree in the median.

Burger was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, DPS said.

Dansereau was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries, according to DPS.

Officials said she was in the surgical intensive care unit on Monday at UMC.
