Last meeting: Jan. 30, the Wildcats edged the Tigers 65-64 at Alamo.
Last time out: Clovis lost at Hobbs 88-37 and Alamo dropped a 77-42 decision at home to Carlsbad on Tuesday.
Of note: Although the Cats have a win in hand over the Tigers, this game is likely to determine home court for a first-round meeting in a couple of weeks in the District 4-6A tournament. … Alamo comes into the contest having lost 13 of its last 15, including an eight-game losing streak. Ironically, the Tigers’ last win came over former district rival Mayfield, a 70-64 decision on Jan. 13. … The Tigers led 10-9 after one quarter against Carlsbad on Tuesday, but were blitzed 68-32 the rest of the way. Senior C Josey Mills scored 15 points for Alamo, but seven of them came in the final period. … Alamo is 2-10 away from home this season.

Clovis at Alamogordo

Records: Clovis 22-2 (4-0 district), Alamogordo 13-10 (0-3)
Last meeting: Jan. 30, the Lady Wildcats cruised to a 58-16 win over Alamo at The Rock.
Last time out: Clovis beat Hobbs 56-38 at home and Alamo lost at Carlsbad 61-34 on Tuesday.
Of note: Tuesday’s game at Carlsbad was the first for the Lady Tigers since the sudden death of assistant coach James Jacob prior to last Friday’s game against Hobbs. Alamo and Hobbs will now play twice in three days next week to finish the regular season, including the makeup game on Tuesday. … The Lady Cats, who will clinch the outright district regular-season title with a win, are 6-0 this season in true road games while Alamo has gone 7-5 at home.
