The Roosevelt County Commission meets at 9 a.m. today at the L.C. Cozzens Administrative Offices.
The agenda includes:
• Reports from elected officials and department heads.
• Discussion and possible action related to funding for the Milnesand and Arch volunteer fire departments.
• Discussion and possible action to amend the Roosevelt County 2015 Calendar. The amendment will show the cancellation of the county commission’s Jan. 22 regular business meeting and corrects pay days for February and March.
• Appoint a representative to serve as the designated representative for Eastern Plains Council of Government meetings. Commissioner Jake Lopez currently serves as the alternate delegate for EPCOG.
• Discussion and possible action to approve resolution 2015-25 for a temporary moratorium on hiring for the remaining fiscal year 2015.
• Discussion and possible action on hiring moratorium, attrition and position justification policy.
• Discussion and possible action to approve resolution 2015-26 related to the Open Meetings Act.
• Discussion and possible action to approve resolution 2015-28 for public participation at Roosevelt County Commission meetings.
• Discussion and possible action to approve resolution 2015-27 to amend county personnel ordinance 2007-3 to establish the pay period to run from 12:00 a.m. Sunday through 11:59 p.m. 14 days following.
• Discussion and possible action for participation in the Cannon Community Partnership Initiative.
• Appoint a representative to go to the Cannon Community Partnership Initiative meetings.
• Discussion and possible action on intergovernmental service agreement between Curry and Roosevelt Counties for housing juvenile and adult inmates. The agreement proposes Roosevelt County will be responsible for paying Curry County $200 a day per juvenile inmate and $75 a day for adult inmates for board, housing, and related services.
