Staff report

Wyoming hospital executive Vince DiFranco has accepted an offer to become the new administrator at Plains Regional Medical Center, according to PRMC board Chairman Lonnie Leslie.

Leslie confirmed Wednesday that DiFranco will begin his duties Feb. 9 at PRMC. He is relieving Bo Beames, vice president for regional operations for parent organization Presbyterian Healthcare Service.

Beames has held the post as PRMC’s interim administrator since June 2014, when former administrator Hoyt Skabelund resigned.

For the past four years, DiFranco has served as chief executive officer of Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyoming. During his tenure, DiFranco oversaw remodeling of the obstetrics and critical care patient units, according to a press release from the Wyoming hospital’s parent group, Banner Health.

DiFranco worked with Banner Medical Group to recruit a number of new doctors and increase community and hospital engagement through a number of activities, according to the release.

Prior to Wyoming, DiFranco worked in several leadership roles in Monroeville, Alabama at Quorum Health Resources (QHR), a healthcare management and consulting firm. He served as CEO of Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville. He has also served as CEO for Mena Regional Health System in Arkansas, Wills Memorial Hospital in Georgia and has served as CEO at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
