Curry County and Area Republican Women

The monthly meeting of Curry County Republican Women (CCRW) was called to order Oct. Twenty-four members and guests attended.

The September minutes and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

Rube Render, Curry County Republican Party chairman, reported on recent polling trends in New Mexico. Gladys Birdsong, Debbie Spriggs and Helen Cleveland volunteered to serve on the nominating committee for 2015 CCRW officers.

First Vice President Robin Montano introduced guest speaker Rick Lopez, the Republican candidate for state treasurer. Lopez spoke about his conservative upbringing, an education based in finance and business, and 27 years of experience in related fields.

Lopez stated he believes in public service, not self-service.

The next CCRW meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 11 at Dakota’s Steakhouse.
