Clovis man guilty of drug trafficking

STAFF REPORT

A Clovis man was found guilty Wednesday of trafficking controlled substances.

William Lewis, 36, faces up to 10 years in prison.

According to a release from the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office:

• Lewis was stopped in December 2012 for a traffic violation.

• Lewis consented to a vehicle search, and a dog alerted on the vehicle. A search warrant was obtained, and two bags of methamphetamine and paraphernalia were found.

• He was remanded into immediate custody by Judge Fred Van Soelen at the conclusion of the day-long trial.

Attempts to contact Lewis’ attorney, Thomas Harden, were unsuccessful Thursday.
