Youth Services holding two events

Curry County Youth Services will be reaching out to the community during two upcoming events.

According to a Youth Services press release, representatives with the program will be present during the Curry County Fair, set to take place Aug. 12-16, and the National Night Out event, taking place 6 p.m. until dark Tuesday at Greene Acres Park.

Youth Services representatives will be handing out information about the program’s initiatives, such as Teen Court, the Boy’s Council, Girl’s Circle, and truancy and citation prevention.

The goal, according to the press release, is to inform the community on programs that assist teenagers with their development; as well as to inform about the dangers of underage drinking, drug abuse, and other serious issues.
