27th Special Operations Wing Public AffairsThe 27th Special Operations Wing is scheduled to host the inaugural Student Connection Round-Up at the Base Chapel, Aug. 1.
The goal of this event is for new students at Cannon Air Force Base to meet established students prior to the start of the school year.
Stressors of starting a new grade in school in a new area are anticipated within military families; Student Connection Round-Up will be providing activities and educational information designed to enhance leadership, mentorship and resiliency, develop an understanding of healthy and unhealthy relationships, and give tips on how to deal with bullying.
The event is open to students entering the fourth through twelfth grade this fall. However, this event is limited to 100 students.
Students can be dropped off at the Chapel at 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 1 and picked-up at the Landing Zone by 5 p.m. The Back to School Bash is scheduled to take place directly following the round-up.
Education topics and activities will include:
