Last time out: The Lions lost at Cameron 69-66 last Wednesday. ENMU pulled out a 72-68 overtime win at home on Saturday over Angelo State.

Last year: The teams split, Commerce winning 84-77 at home while the Hounds pulled out an 88-85 victory at Greyhound Arena in the regular-season finale, ending an 11-game losing streak to the Lions. A&M-C leads the all-time series 38-18.

Of note: Commerce is finishing off a three-game road trip, having lost the first two by a total of five points. … The Lions started 8-0, their second-best start in history, and the 12-4 mark is the also the second-best start in school history behind the 2004-05 squad (13-3). … Lions coach Sam Walker, in his 13th season at the helm, is the second-winningest active coach in the LSC (218) behind Tarleton State’s Lonn Reisman (543). … Commerce has trailed at halftime in nine games this season (5-4). … The Lions shot 41 percent at Cameron, their best so far in LSC play. … Commerce averages 27 FT attempts per game and shoots at a 74 percent clip. Entering this game, 5-foot-10 senior G Tyler Wooten has made 22 consecutive FTs. … Four players average in double figures, led by 6-6 junior G Don Carnegie (14.2 ppg).

Last time out: The Lions won at Cameron 78-76 last Wednesday, their first road win of the season (1-6). The Zias posted their second consecutive victory by beating Angelo State 74-64 at home on Saturday.

Last year: Commerce swept the Zias, winning 69-59 at home and 66-64 in Portales.

Of note: Much of the Lions’ problems can be traced to the fact that they’re at or near the bottom of the LSC in 3-point shooting (21 percent) and FT shooting (59 percent). … A&M-C has won seven of the last nine meetings with the Zias. ENMU swept the Lions in 2012-13. … Leaders for Commerce are 5-11 senior F Breanna Harris (16.5 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 59 percent FGs) and 5-8 junior G Devin Oliver (10.1 ppg). Harris has seven double-doubles in 12 games played this season.

Texas Woman’s (7-8, 3-3 Lone Star Conference) at ENMU

When: 6 p.m. Thursday at Greyhound Arena

Last time out: The Pioneers remained unbeaten at home (6-0) with a 66-65 win on Sunday over Midwestern State at Denton, Texas.

Last year: The teams split, each winning on the other’s court. TWU won in Portales 46-40, while the Zias returned the favor 80-70 in overtime at Denton.

Of note: The Pioneers are 1-4 in road games and 0-4 in neutral-court games. They got their first road win last Wednesday at Cameron (66-53). … TWU’s unbeaten home mark contrasts to last year’s 2-11 record. … The Pioneers’ only double-figure scorer is 5-8 senior G Rebekah Cluey (10.9 ppg). She also averages three assists per contest.
