Last time out: The Greyhounds lost at home 59-58 to Cameron on Wednesday, while the Mustangs won at West Texas A&M 76-70 the same night.

Last year: MSU won both meetings with the Hounds, 82-53 at Portales and 83-72 at Wichita Falls.

Of note: This will be the Mustangs’ first LSC home game. MSU has opened league play with two wins on the road in each of the last three seasons. … Midwestern State leads the all-time series with ENMU 24-15, winning 12 of the last 13. … With Wednesday’s win, the Mustangs have back-to-back road victories against WT for the first time in a series which dates back to 1947-48. … Leading scorers for Midwestern State are 6-foot senior G Monzalgo Williams (17.8 ppg) and 5-10 senior reserve G DeJuan Plummer (12.3). … Williams has scored in double figures in 15 consecutive games, dating to the end of last season. … Despite averaging 74.2 ppg, the Mustangs are shooting just 32 percent from 3-point range and 64 percent from the free throw line. They have, however, outrebounded their opponents by just over seven per game. … MSU reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in 2012 before losing to Metro State.

Last time out: The Zias defeated Cameron 70-61 on Wednesday at Greyhound Arena in their LSC opener, while the Mustangs fell to No. 7 West Texas A&M 71-54 at Canyon, Texas.

Last year: MSU won two of three meetings with the Zias last season. ENMU stunned the Mustangs 70-62 at Portales, then Midwestern State posted a 67-52 victory in Wichita Falls before notching an 85-70 win over the Zias in the first round of the LSC postseason tournament at Allen, Texas. It was the Mustangs’ first LSC tourney win since 2003.

Of note: MSU won the LSC title last year and reached the NCAA Division II round of 16. The Mustangs have struggled a bit, though, since opening the season ranked 10th in Division II. … MSU has gone just 2-for-36 from 3-point range in losing its last two games. … Andrea Carter, a 5-10 All-America junior F, just missed her fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and nine rebounds at WT. She is third in the LSC in scoring (15.0 ppg) and leads in rebounding (9.1 rpg). … Also averaging in double figures are 5-9 junior G Dianna Jones (10.6 ppg) and 5-8 senior G Kirsti Degelia (10.4 ppg). … MSU leads the all-time series 21-17.
