Sports physicals to be offered at 27 SOMDG

The 27th Special Operations Medical Group at Cannon Air Force Base is scheduled to offer sports physicals throughout the 2013 summer. To request a sports physical appointment, please call the 27 SOMDG central appointment line at 784-2778, or request an appointment through the MiCare secure messaging system.

As sports season kicks into high-gear for summer and a new school year approaches, the 27th Special Operations Medical Group at Cannon Air Force Base would like to ensure children are safe and healthy before they participate in sporting activities.

To accommodate parents and help prepare children for an action-packed year, the clinic is scheduled to offer sports physicals throughout the summer; each medical provider will have an open appointment set aside specifically for sports physicals at the end of each duty day.

To request a sports physical appointment, please call the 27 SOMDG central appointment line at 784-2778, or request an appointment through the MiCare secure messaging system. Don't have a MiCare account? No problem — the 27 SOMDG reception personnel are prepared to create accounts for Air Commandos upon request.

As a reminder, sports physical appointments are intended to determine whether an individual's health will allow them to safely participate in organized sports based on criteria provided by their respective sport agencies. Other health concerns should be addressed during a separate appointment.

Please bring all documents required by the sport agency to the appointment. If no form is provided by the sport agency, a standard sports physical form will be provided by the clinic.
