U.S. Airmen stationed at Cannon Air Force Base prepare to cross the finish line during a Sexual Assault Awareness Month 5K March 29 at Unity Park March. Throughout the month, airmen and civilians have the opportunity to take part in activities geared toward promoting sexual assault education.

As April gets under way and the nation raises its collective voice to speak out against sexual violence, Air Commandos at Cannon Air Force Base continue to promote awareness through special events and education.

Sexual Assault not only demonstrates a blatant disregard for the Air Force core values, but is a violation of free will and an individual's right to choose. In order to combat this silent enemy it is each individual's responsibility to spread knowledge and infect the public with education, in the hope of eradicating sexual violence for generations to come.

For information on upcoming SAAM events, contact the base's Sexual Assault Response Coordinator at 681-1044.
