Friday area boys prep basketball - Nov. 30

TEXICO — Texico cruised into the boys title match of the Citizens Bank Border Shootout while Farwell had a little tougher time.

Texico 54, Logan 40 — Miguel Reyna followed up a 26-point effort in the opening round with a 25-point effort Friday as the Wolverines bested the Class 1A defending state champions.

Kendall Naceanceno and Mason Grau added nine points each for the Wolverines, who jumped out to a 34-15 halftime lead.

Jacob Gudgell led Logan with 12 points.

Farwell 39, Friona 37 — Colten Morris led a balanced attack with 10 points as Farwell rallied for the victory.

Austin Mason and Collin Christian added eight points each for the Steers, who trailed 29-27 leading into the fourth quarter.

Consolation semifinals

Melrose 64, Dimmitt JV 49 — Colton Draper scored 26 points and Randall Rush added 12 for the fast-starting Buffaloes, who led 25-7 after one quarter.

Draper's night included five 3-pointers.

Grady 53, Floyd 42 — Trenton Jones lead a balanced attack with 14 points and Grady pulled away in the second half.

Tucker Northcutt added 13 points for Grady and Koby Valentine chipped in 11.

Colby Rogers led Floyd with 20 points.
